Kiki's Mexican - Rowlett

I Love this place!!! The best breakfast tacos I've ever ever had!!! I could eat them 3 times a day!!! 7 days a week!!! They are that good!!! Beans rice are killer too!!! Heck, everything is Great!!!The service is fantastic!!!Thank you!!! Wes

Staff was sweet and polite, but the amount and quality of the food was mediocre. I got the combo fajita and the amount of meat given was the size of hand and I small hands. I even asked if the plate was enough for 2 people and I was told yes. Paying for a$16.50 plate of food and it's barely going to fill me up. The caso dip was watery and I got stale chips. Not happy.

While it wasn’t bad, it definitely didn’t match the quality of my first meal. They forgot the guacamole and the flour tortillas for the queso flameado with steak. Last time, the queso didn’t have cilantro in it, and that’s one of the reasons I liked Kiki’s so much—they didn’t overdo it with cilantro in every dish! You either love it or hate it, and I happen to hate it. That’s why I generally avoid commercial places like On the Border, Chuy's, and Chili's since everything they serve seems to be loaded with cilantro. However, this time Kiki's added cilantro to my queso flameado! It wasn’t just a little bit, either. While the guacamole had a hint of cilantro that you couldn’t really taste, the queso had a lot, which completely overpowered the flavors of the fresh tomato and grilled onions with steak. I even pulled out two large stems of cilantro from the cheese, and that wasn’t all of it! I’m not sure if I’ll order from them again due to my strong dislike of cilantro. I appreciate that the dishes are made fresh, but I also need consistency with the ingredients, especially since I have dietary restrictions. So, can you please confirm whether or not you will include cilantro in the queso flameado?

UPDATE: After going home and discovering my order was incorrect, I returned to the restaurant. The staff kindly remade my meal and even offered it to me for free. I'm updating my review from one star to three.

Geovany provided prompt service, and our food arrived quickly and hot. It was incredibly delicious and very affordable! We ordered the beef chimichanga and the enchiladas Verdes, both of which were packed with flavor. The tres leches cake and chocolate churros were fantastic as well. Thank you!
