Bidra med feedbackI had lunch at O'Dowds and ordered the chicken dish. I was very disappointed with the meal. The chicken was tough and rubbery, and the chips were bland. It seemed like a simple dish that should have been easy to prepare, but it fell short. I would not recommend this place and will not be returning.
I came across some positive reviews for this restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. When we arrived, the door was closed which was not a great first impression. My partner enjoyed the chowder, and we both had the mussels as a starter. The portion size was small, but the mussels were delicious. My salmon main course was tasty, but the sauce was bland and the scallops were overcooked. My partner ordered the fish and chips, which were decent. It seemed that some menu items were already sold out by the time other customers arrived. Additionally, the staff could have been more attentive.
I would not recommend dining at this restaurant unless you enjoy having a cheap gravy poured over an overcooked frozen steak, along with their potatoes and salad. It was the worst meal I have ever had in my country.
Beola does not take any reservations so we just came in and got a good table. the menu is quite small and two of the six or seven main courses were not available. fried mussels were a great starter. fish and chips were in huge...portions steak was just so. based on some of the Rave reviews here "Irish/french fusion we expected a bit more refinement; what they get is good simple food to travel decent. service was very friendly and efficient.
Everything was meh. We tried the bruscheta and it was grand. We tried the veg soup and it was alright. Nothing outstanding. We continued with the salmon and the chicken schnitzel. The salmon was well cooked but the sauce was heavy and not very tasty....The schnitzel... the breaded was a bit overcooked. And waaaay too thick. Chips were ok. Everything came with a side of salad to laugh at it. Nothing to remember, it's just another restaurant. Nothing special, nothing good, just meh.
