Bidra med feedbackWe were hoping that our new local fish and chips would be great, and would be back in a flash if the quality improved. Specifically: batter is too sweet, sugar is totally unnecessary and yuck, batter is too thick, should be thin and crispy, not like a cake, fish pretty dry, potato cakes again covered in stodge cakey batter. If the owners have the time and inclination, please make a point of visiting Fish on High on High Street Thornbury. If you could produce fish and chips like this, you would have a dedicated following and could charge much more...... And we would be happy
Silences are a lot and then you are better at being able to get to know you better and then the rest are the ones you can do it and I think that is a very good idea
This place is a little gem in Banyule with AMAZING grilled flake however lately they’re slipping. Appreciate Good Friday is probably the busiest trading day of the year however don’t tell me “10 minutes” and then keep me waiting 2 HOURS whilst pushing through Uber Eats order ahead of everyone.On top of this last night we were served RAW potato cakes!! All I wanted with my fish and chips were some delicious, hot potato cakes. My husband bought them home and they were all under cooked and all thrown away. Shame!!
When the new owners took over a few years ago, I noticed alot of upset community members annoyed with the change in quality. However, it's great to see that the new owners have taken reviews and feedback into account because the quality is great now and the customer service is very friendly. Good on these guys for working to improve because it shows!
The portions are incredibly generous, and they always provide extra servings. Over the past year, I've noticed an improvement in their cooking skills. It's wonderful to support the locals and such a lovely family.
