Cocodrilo - Roquetas de Mar

We stayed in Roquetas for three weeks in September, 2015 and visited Cocodrilo six times. We received a very friendly welcome each time from both management and staff. The home-made food is of an excellent quality. I, personally, would recommend the pulpo a la Gallega, the almejas, the albondigas, the ternera and the berenjenas. The ambience inside and outside is good. The waiters/waitresses don't speak a lot of English, but are very accommodating, efficient and helpful, My wife and I will definitely return there on our next trip to Almeria...

We were left waiting for twenty minutes. Because we didn't speak panfish we felt we were ignored . The owner was friendly but left us standing for 20 minutes while our table was being prepared. The food was fairly good. The restaurant serves very nice tapas etc.

This is a place where you go to eat fresh fish and seafood. Don´t expect to have lunch like in an American restaurant with extra sauces and artificial preservatives. It´s not a place for meat or burgers.Don´t expect a fancy place but a beach restaurant with an awesome service and better food. You may be alone if you don´t go at the local´s lunch time (1.30 to 3pm) and you´ll find only locals because this is a hidden gem for turists. Ask for the daily fish (pescado del día) and let them surprise you with some gamba roja, almejas or a delicious calamar en aceite. If you´re adventurous, stop by there a couple of hours before lunch and let them know you want a seafood paella (paella de marisco). You won´t be disappointed at all.

Hemos estado un día cenando y otro comiendo de menú. Para cenar, las tapas y las medias raciones bastante generosas, precio adecuado y calidad buena. El menú, bastante normal, primero segundo y postre, son 10€ y esta bien. El cuanto al personal hay de todo, una mujer nos trato con bastante indiferencia (mal), el resto trato correcto. El sitio está a pocos pasos del paseo marítimo y desde fuera tiene un aspecto algo dudoso, tal vez renovando los toldos estaría perfecto. Recomendable.
