The Prime Smokehouse: Barbecue Beyond

Gumbo was tasteless. Pulled pork was more like a ground pork and just taste like vinegar. The worst brisket I ever tried, dry, overcooked.waiting time for the food about 40 minutes. Never again. I don’t recommend this restaurant at all. Waste of money

The food was amazing and the customer service was great they were all super nice and I would recommend this place to anyone in the area.

The atmosphere is nice and the customer service was great very personable. The food not so much. It's probably just a preference thing, but not too tasty all the same. I had the ribs, brisket, wings, macaroni cheese, yams none of the 5 items did I eat in its entirety and none of it would be ordered again. The ribs had potential, but they use a distasteful sauce on all of their meats yuck! : I was hoping that the sweet potato pie would redeem them, because I really wanted to like the place, they were so nice. First of all, it was served warm I'm not a fan. Then it was just ok tasting. Nothing horrible, I just would not eat there again. I do know that bbq flavoring can taste different depending on where you're accustomed to eating and I'm from the east cost DMV, if your further north stay clear.

As a visitor from out of town, I was hoping to get a decent meal here as I 've been here once before. So far as the food here, it 's a solid 4-5. 2 star review for service because tonight when I came here for dinner, I was asked if I was dining in or not; I told them I 'd like a table for 1. She told me I could sit at the bar to which I told her I 'd prefer a table. She then told me I could sit at the high-top table in the bar area... Perhaps there 's a reason I don 't want to sit in a bar when I don 't drink? The server, the bartender, asked what I wanted to drink, they were out of ingredients for their 'mocktails ' but told me I could order a different drink off their menu... When he dropped off my Coke, he asked if I was ready to order and I told him I needed just 1 more minute. 15 minutes later, with him working the bar where he could see me literally twiddling my thumbs waiting to put in a food order, I decided to walk out. I suppose it 's another fast food night in Rocky Mount :

A wonderful find for us! Absolutely fabulous food! Had a bowl.of gumbo that was loaded with seafood plus. Hubby had a burger which was fresh and tasty. Tried a side of collards, which I also highly recommend!
