Bidra med feedbackWe went here for my son's birthday, per his request for hibachi. Unfortunately, there aren't too many hibachi restaurants within the area, so it was pretty much slim pickings. Kabuto had relatively good reviews during my hunt for a hibachi restaurant, so we decided to go here. I called ahead and was told I needed to make reservations, which I did. However, when we showed up, the restaurant was not packed at all, so I'm not sure why reservations were requested. We waited around for a bit to served. There was one hostess who greeted customers and brought them to their tables. There were a handful of staff just hanging around the bar, and casually talking amongst themselves, and not really paying attention to customers. Once seated, we were greeted by our waitress. She brought out our appetizers and drinks relatively quickly, but was slow on refills, and not present anywhere when we were trying to get the bill after our meal. Our chef was awesome, and very entertaining. He kept everyone at the table engaged, and awed our boys. The food was okay, everything pretty much had the same flavor and was pretty salty. The portions were huge, but with the amount of salt that was in the food, you couldn't really have more than a few bites. Definitely go here for the show, and not necessarily for the food.
Drove by the place daily and finally went. You can order hibachi at the dinning room or you can wait for the hot counter. But what's the point of going to a hibachi place without a show from the chef? The dinning experience was great. Our waiter seems new and made a couple of rookie mistakes, not a big deal. Order the filet, scallop and shrimp combo. I asked for rare and it was actually rare. It was tender and perfect. I think there was too much source on the shrimp and scallops. It just got too salty at the end. The food portion was huge. Got fried rice and noodles. I end up eating all the protein and vegetables but gave up on the rest.
Delicious sushi and sashimi. Nice presentation. They have a section for regular seating and for hibachi seating (but you can order hibachi no matter where you sit). This was on the pricier side but still reasonable. I was sad to see they were still serving plastic straws with their water. I didn?t use mine because single-use plastic is the worst contributor to un-recyclable plastic waste.
The place was pretty clean and nice. Service was okay. And the whole hibachi experience was just okay, nothing special. I was expecting much more. I heard good things for sushi here though.
The service is slow for hibachi. we were first to sit and had to wait till the table is full! The chef act is very short compare to other similar restaurants which is fine. The quality of the food are just ok, taste like ordinary asian restaurant. However the portion us big. I guess trying it once is fun to watch and experiencing it. The restaurant itself is well designed and has a good interior.
