Bidra med feedbackHaving our wedding reception here 20 years ago we decided to go back. The service was beyond brilliant the meal was cooked to perfection, no one left hungry, thank you for making our special night so memorable.
The room we stayed in at this restaurant was not up to the standard of a typical hotel room. It was a crummy old motel room with only one bedside table, no clock, lamps, or power points for our CPAP machines. The room was very outdated and costly, and the restaurant was closed both nights we were there. There was no room service, and the breakfast specials were not available during our stay. The television was old, and we were surprised that they required a $300 security deposit. Overall, the room did not meet our expectations, and we were disappointed with the lack of amenities, including real milk for coffee.
We were staying at the hotel and enjoyed two breakfasts and dinner here. On each morning I ordered the Big Breakfast and it was BIG, Very BIG: eggs, bacon, potato rosti, chipolatas, mushrooms, homemade baked beans,, roasted tomatoes, spinach, sourdough toast and accompanied by a large coffee. My wife was more sedate, just bacon and mushrooms. The surplus went into a take away container for later nourishment. Dinner serves were equally generous, luckily we were able to eye the meals of various diners who arrived before us. We ignored the starters and I went for the surf turf, 300g porterhouse, creamy garlic prawns, mashed potato, broccolini, my wife the grilled fish, sidewinder fries, salad tartare sauce. Delicious meals and both enjoyed with a bottle of Morgans Bay SSB. Our desert selections were kindly packed into containers for later enjoyment. Service friendly and informative, a great chef in the kitchen, a great vibe in the restaurant.
If you are thinking about booking a room at this restaurant, you may want to reconsider your options. The bedrooms and bathrooms have peeling paint on the ceiling, and the floors are reminiscent of the 70s. The TV does not work properly, and one of the bathroom sinks needs to be replaced. It would also be beneficial to invest in a clock radio. If you are considering staying here, it may be a good idea to look for a better place to stay.
I would not choose to stay here again unless it was absolutely necessary. There was a noticeable chunk out of the wall in the bathroom, the walls were dirty, and the sink needed to be replaced. It would have been nice to have a clock radio to listen to in the morning, as the place felt very outdated. Additionally, the restaurant next door was not open during my stay.
