Valley Mill Pub Grill - Rockford

My large (15) group meets there once per month, and they (staff) have to screw up. very attentive service, friendly and funny, and they remember all our names after only 3 times! who does this? while I think they could use more help on the days we visit, the service is still quite good. I have to admit, I liked the tweeper rings better than it was back yard bar grill, but they are still good, and always hot and fresh. my fraction would not hesitate to say this if it was not right, and there was no complaining.

A friendly spot for a wonderful half pound burger and thick cut steak fries. I went there with a sizeable group which I think overwhelmed the kitchen. Food delivery was a little slow but the flavor and quality of the food was outstanding. A couple free little sips of beer from the bar (tastings during an otherwise business lunch (shhh! And my opinion was sealed.

Excellent Friday Fish Fry!! The cod was fresh, lightly battered and served piping hot. The only fault we could find is the French Fries were not fried long enough. The service was attentive and the overall atmosphere was very relaxing. We will definitely be back very soon to try other items on their rather extensive menu.

Burgers here are outstanding but the meal service is dreadfully slow. We came here at lunch about 6 months prior and had the exact same experience. We thought the problem was that we showed up with too many people at once, so this time we put outr order in on the phone, but it didn't help. Hard to say I'll come back here at lunch in my workday again. In my own time, I'd care less about that.

I got to visit the Cherry Valley due to work from Chicago. I have to say The Backyard Burger was definitely pure good. Not sure about the place it self, looks like low class bar/dinning area. Never got the fries so can't comment on that either. However, the burger tasted fresh, heavy and tasty.
