Bidra med feedbackI love the food. She really seems to remember all of her customers. She is a hard worker and a blessing to see at the market, on the mornings I go.
Fantastic, fresh, tasty, and Philomina makes you feel like you are the best most loved in the worldVegetarian options: Vegan loveliness
Philomena's meals with pocket-friendly prices. Must-try for all friend chicken lovers. I am a huge fan of their wrap. Also, the bun provided with their meal is extra soft and sweet and I ended up eating all of them. Highly recommended this restaurant.
Philomina's, how did I not discover you earlier? If so, I would have been a more frequent flyer of the Public Market. Hands down, some of the best food i've ever had in Rochester. Not only was it tasty, but also healthy (mostly vegetables) and unique. I have a hard time characterizing the cuisine. I know Philomina is Nigerian, but I haven't had enough Nigerian food to know if it's classic Nigerian food per se. All I know is it's hearty comfort food. I had a large plate of assorted stews (tomato, lentil, potato greens), served with fried plantains, sweet potato and oven roasted chicken over jollof rice. My wife had the smaller plate with Turkey meatballs. So much deliciousness on one plate! It might just be the best single dish of food in Rochester. So much variety, with different flavors and textures. The chicken was extremely tender and fell of the bone (I could eat with a plastic fork). It paired nicely with the fluffy and tangy rice. The slightly sweet plantains and sweet potatoes also added another dimension to the plate. The large plate was a bargain for $10. Philomina's is my new favorite mom pop restaurant in town. I think I may just return this weekend.
Fresh and delicious. Everything is well made and super tasty. Some of the best food at the market!
