Bidra med feedbackThis was my first time eating from here and everything was great. I was excited to see a vegan restaurant option in Roanoke and wanted to try everything on the menu. I settled on ordering the TLT with sweet potato tots and the nuggets. Very tasty! The ranch was delicious as well
I feel really bad about giving this place 2 stars because the people were so nice and their selection was incredible. I love supporting local vegan restaurants. We stopped in town specifically to eat here. The food looked amazing. Everything was visually pleasing. We ordered the Cheesesteak, the chicken salad sandwich, the corn dog fries, the sesame nuggets, and the wings (as an afterthought). My wife immediately opened the wings and said “these look AMAZING” and took a bite. Her facial expression changed rapidly as she opened the car door and spit it out. I tried it and had the same reaction. The texture was the main problem. It was extremely chewy. The flavor was nonexistent even with the sauce. Chewing flavorless textured soy protein is not fun.Next we tried the soy nuggets. Very similar problem. Just chewy. They had more flavor, but not good.I legit really liked the vegan chicken salad sandwich. I thought it was pretty solid. I reminded me of the vegan chicken salad from Whole Foods. My wife didn’t care for it, but I genuinely liked it a lot.The cheesesteak flavor wise was good, but texture again made it inedible. It tasted more like mushrooms and onions which was nice, just chewy and gelatinous. My daughter loved the corn dog. I think it’s a morning star corn dog, which eats regularly, but she hated the fries. This was the first time in her two years of existence that she turned down fried. I tried them, they just had no flavor at all. Not a sprinkle of salt. They looked so good. Nice hand cut thick fries. The drink selection was really cool, got some good kombucha, and they had a nice selection of vegan snacks (candy and jerky). The food all looked incredible, I just wish the taste reflected the appearance. We ended up giving most of the food to a homeless man.
This place is excellent!! We aren’t vegan, we were checking it out to try and get friends to visit us, and my teenager and I both enjoyed the food tremendously. I’d never had vegan mayo, but this was really thick and good. The chicken patty was crunchy and the roll was fabulous. My son had the ‘Philly Cheesesteak’ and he was very happy with it...he just had one last week that he raved about, so to say this one was on par with it is really saying something. The restaurant has a lot of windows and the people are super-friendly. We will be back, with or without our friends, because of the warm welcome we got here.
Honestly Vegan was reasonably-priced and the food was delicious! The staff is so nice and genuinely excited about their menu. The cake is absolutely wonderful. I do wish the portions were a bit bigger, i felt like my boyfriend had to eat more when we got home. Overall, we would visit again. Its a good lunch spot.
The staff was super friendly and the store was nice. However we ordered two sandwiches a buffalo chicken and a black bean burger. They were good but it was just store bought Morning Star patties. We're exclusively vegan and instantly recognized them whenever they brought them out since the brand is the most popular in most stores. It costed $25 for both and they could increase the price and make the patties in-house. I wish for the best for this store and we will be going back!
