Bidra med feedbackI decided to give this restaurant another try and I was impressed with the quality of the sashimi this time. My only issue was with a to-go phone order I placed for two separate people. The order was packed in a single container, making it challenging to share. We had requested separate orders because we didn't want to share. I hope to see improvements from this restaurant since it is the nearest sushi place to me.
Let me begin by addressing some issues at this restaurant. On Yelp, it is advertised as an All-You-Can-Eat sushi restaurant. However, when you try to order the All-You-Can-Eat option, they inform you that it is no longer available. Despite this, they have not updated their menus to reflect this change. Additionally, the pricing on their menus varies, with different prices for the same items on different menus. Despite these discrepancies, the food turned out to be quite good. The sushi was affordable and tasty. I particularly enjoyed the heart attack roll and nigiri. The heart attack roll is essentially a jalapeño popper with spicy tuna, which was flavorful and delicious. My only complaint is that the jalapeño could have been a bit softer. The nigiri pieces were generously sized, and I received a substantial amount of food for $25. Overall, I was satisfied and happy with the meal, as were the others in my group. Despite the confusion with the menu, I would definitely consider returning to this restaurant.
Revised to 3 stars. I had visited this restaurant twice before and loved it. I even suggested to my date that we make it our regular spot every two weeks. The food was amazing and we could have a nice dinner for two, with a couple of rolls and a generous tip, for under $60. They recently renovated the restaurant and we were excited to go back tonight. The new look is alright, but I missed the detailed woodwork in the lobby and the large ship sushi bar. The woodwork has been replaced with plain vertical 2x4s. The prices of the sushi have increased significantly. For example, the Mexican roll used to be $5 and now it's $12.95. There was no teriyaki chicken on the menu except for the lunch menu or as an appetizer. When I asked about it, I was told I could order the $7.99 appetizer which did not come with rice. I felt like the chefs were new, as well as our server, and no one seemed to know how to cook the new items on the menu. It was disappointing that they changed the recipes as the food was great before. People only had complaints about the menu because of incorrect printing. There was no all-you-can-eat option available. We ended up ordering two dinner combos so that we could get the teriyaki chicken with rice. However, we had to ask for some of the items that were listed in the combo but forgotten. It seems like since the menu change, they were not familiar with the items on it. People around us were leaving because of the long wait. Our server Adam was there, trying to do everything by himself - handling the register, phones, take-out orders, assisting the new server, and correcting mistakes that were overlooked otherwise. Although he wasn't our server that night, he passed by and grabbed the forgotten tempura from my date's meal and the missing 4-piece California roll from my combo. He also offered to refill our drinks, brought us our bill, and take-out boxes. He apologized profusely for the shortcomings. Honestly, if it weren't for him, we probably wouldn't consider going back. I'll give it a couple of months before trying it again for a lunch date. The prices for dinner are now a bit too high for me. I hope they can work out the issues. The quality of the food is still top-notch. They do not serve items that are subpar. Maybe Adam was also checking the quality of the food on the line, haha.
I placed an order to go Various rolls and sashimi, asked for ponzu sauce on the side. My order was so pretty in the platter so presentation is great. They forgot my ponzu. Also I was a little sad that the pictures for the albacore had shown with a little sauce and green onions. Yet mine were plain. Otherwise, everything was great. The fish tasted fresh.
One of the best small sushi places! The food was great, the service was very friendly and the vibe was over the top. The cooks were welcoming and the food was very fresh.
