Les Oliveres - Riudellots de la Selva

Very cheap menu Del dia. Good value at 10 euros but I won't hurry back in an area with many better value restaurants. However the ladies serving were very pleasant. I probably made the wrong choice of very fatty pork trotters.

It's famous in the area for good food at good prices. Daily menu at less than 11 €, menu card on week ends, but also inexpensive. Roasted meats and snails.

I 'm sure that during the week, this restaurant is packed at lunchtimes. It 's right in the middle of a 'Poligono ' (industrial estate) in a little town near Girona Airport. But this is Sunday lunchtime, and at 3pm, the place was nearly full. This food is very good value for money: during the week, the Menu del Dia is €10,90, but today (Sunday), they have a really goos set menu at €14,50, which includes 3 courses, bread, a glass of wine or 1/2 litre of water and coffee. Like many Spanish restaurants, the starters are more interesting than the main courses. We had a wonderful Estofado (stew) made from Potatoes and Beef Ribs, and a Salteado de Verduras, a sautee of vegetables, but you could have had Fish Soup with Prawns, or Macaroni Bolognese. For Main Course, we had a Confit of Duck and a Butifarra, a local sausage. But they arrived on the plate practically unaccompanied, with only a smattering of (rather cold) chips for company. We felt slightly let down. But dessert were proper, as opposed to the pots of yoghurt and a Cornetto in its wrapper which is what we 've been served at the end of some Menus del Dia. The cheesecake and the Tarta Santiago were obviously home made and all the better for it. The speciality of the house is snails, so if that 's your desire, and you find yourself in the middle of an industrial estate in Riudellots de la Selva, head straight for this place without delay!!

Situado en el polígono industrial, dispone de terraza exterior y aparcamiento. Interior austero. Servicio amable y simpático. La cocina de mercado con buen producto y cocción. Para comer un menú.
