Bidra med feedbackWe have always thoroughly enjoyed our visits to this exceptional, if slightly out of the way, restaurant. A couple of days ago we decided to take some friends along to share the experience with us. So glad that we did as we had such a fabulous evening with truly outstanding food. I forgot to mention when booking that I had recently been diagnosed with gluten intolerance so anxiously asked our waiter if this would be a problem knowing that in most places it would be. I was delighted to be told that the chef would adapt anything of my choosing to accommodate my requirement. Not only was this followed through but I ended up eating the most delicious gluten free foods I have ever had! When I half jokingly asked for the recipe for the bread, I was asked for my email address and then this morning not only the recipe for the bread appeared but the recipe for the tart base that I had too along with lots of extra cooking tips. Where else in the world could you get an experience like that?! If I could rate this place with ten stars I definitely would. No hesitation in highly recommending this magical place. You could never be disappointed with the location, service or the divine cuisine.
We have been dining at this fabulous place for a number of years now as it serves simply the best food in the area. A little out of the way but if you want a wonderful dining experience then this is the place for you, A family run business, who work together to make the perfect team. Angus was front of house on our last visit ably assisted by his sister, while his mother worked culinary miracles in the kitchen. The ambiance and views are also extraordinary.. Definitely one of our favourite places in the Axarquia. You won’t be disappointed!
We have heard of The Fountainhead for about 15 years and finally, FINALLY we went! What took us so long? Peter warmly welcomed us. He is front of house, his wife is the brilliant chef and their boys are waiters/barmen. He had wonderful suggestions for our wine choice and gave us a brief history of the Fountainhead. The meal was excellent and served with great professionalism. It was probably one of the best meals we've had in Spain and we will be returning very soon!!
A place to escape the hustle bustle. Truly beautiful. A family run retreat with individual Casa’s, small, very aesthetically appealing. Own private plunge pool on a large deck with country views across the valley. The casa we stayed in was Moroccan themed. Small kitchen but adequate. Open fire place with logs cut stacked under the deck. You can either travel to the nearest village to eat or simply enjoy their restaurant (which we did for 3 nights). The food is magnificent. A blend of flavours using locally sourced produce. Nothing is too much trouble for this lovely family. Easy to find as well sign posted however the drive up a long windy dirt road is somewhat arduous in the rain.
