Bidra med feedbackThe joy of eating here is difficult to describe, not only eating delicious, but the goodness of the sisters who work here is contagious. I not only let L’ Eau Vive fade, but also with a smile that stayed well in the week. I couldn't help but singing the Ave Maria of Lourdes so beautifully at the end of dinner they sing all the way back to my hotel. This restaurant strives to allow the Donum Dei community to serve less luck in Lima. I dare to eat here and not go with a smile and a warm heart!
L’eau Vivre, as you obviously know, is operated by nuns who earn the money they use to medicine, food and care for hundreds of local arms. Their excellent meal is prepared with the same nursing women and served with respect and kindness. Lunch is hectic, as the 12 nuns (only a dozen all works) are supported by local businessmen as they promote work, but we were the only diners in place for the evening meal. A sister came out and spoke to us on invitation and told us about the work and their efforts. At 9 a.m. you can be sung by the sisters who sing Ave María. This is an experience. Friends, this is an exciting and delicious way to earn your good karma credits. The sisters are from Burkina Faso, Vietnam, Congo, Kenya and a few locals from Peru. We are not religious, but we were taken from their sincerity and devotion. You will.
A beautiful place quiet and quiet in the middle of the city, a wonderful place for lunch. The dining rooms are not crowded and have very high ceilings, so you have a great feeling of space and tranquility. The waiters are, AFAIK, all nuns, but conventionally dressed speaking French is an advantage! We were offered the (sight) menu of the day, but after consulting here we asked for the A la Carte menu that was much wider. Food quality was decent without being excellent, but I give 5 stars because of value and experience. We were very amusing to note that anyone who upgrades to the a la carte menu had quietly replaced his paper napkins with fabric... like befitting first-class customers! Very recommended, but it filled during the time we were there...
Limited hours, small menu, but the service, food, and atmosphere are heavenly. The Carmelite nuns run this small French restaurant in an 18th century convent building. The table settings are simple, the room very large, beautiful, but quiet, and the food was excellent. Yes, they serve beer and wine. Prices are very affordable. And at 9:00, the nuns and diners all join in to sing 'Ave Maria '. And all proceeds support their charity. Menus have English translations but most of the nuns speak Spanish and French.
This is a perfect place to have lunch while exploring Lima city centre. Very peaceful and relaxing. The food is like home-made and inexpensive. The nuns who run the place are friendly. Speaking French helps.
