Delhi-cious - Richmondshire

Delicious food and generous portions served by a family-owned restaurant. They have been serving the Richmond community for over a decade, which speaks to the quality of their food. One of the highlights is that their curries are not greasy. The restaurant is located in a quiet residential area away from the town center. I picked up my food and had a nice conversation with the friendly staff.

This takeaway restaurant has scored 'one ' on the food hygiene rating, a fact that I was not aware of before ordering on the website. Needless to say, the takeaway do not display this rating, why would they? The staff are friendly, but the food is poor quality and not authentic or well prepared. The sauces were watery, lacked body and had few spices to give it that rich flavour that Indian food needs. My Biriani was acceptable but the chef 's special passanda was grim; the sauce was watery and without flavour. The food was really poor quality and not nice to eat. We threw most of the passanda away and the majority of the mushroom pilau. I 'm sorry to say that the chef needs to try out some other Indian takeaway food in the area. He has not come up to scratch today and on this occasion has produced inferior food. I wasted my money today.

This was the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The food was barely warm upon arrival and the bag was soaked through. The poppadoms were so wet they were foldable. The customer service was equally as terrible. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was rude, unapologetic, and snotty. We ordered our food at 6:30 in the evening and were told it would arrive at 7:20, but it actually arrived at 8:20. When I asked for a refund because of the long wait, I was told to contact Just Eat. As I was doing so, the food arrived. I accepted it, thinking it was just a busy night, but when I opened it, I realized it was not satisfactory. I called the restaurant to request a refund, and was accused of messing around by a man on the phone. I explained that I accepted the food under the impression it would be good and I wouldn't have to contact Just Eat, but that was not the case. They then called me a liar and insisted I was not telling the truth about the condition of the food. I told them I was throwing it away, and they said they would send a delivery driver to collect it to check for themselves. However, nobody came to collect the food. When I called to ask what was going on, they said they would not be collecting it. Just Eat processed a refund of only 50% of what I paid, so I lost £16 for this terrible service.

Ordered some food. Reasonable taste but my friend found a screw in her meal!!! Yuk. Rang up but not able to explain how it ended up there!!

Had a few take-aways from here, always consistant quality well worth a visit. Delivery available at very reasonable rates!!!!!!!
