Bidra med feedbackCame here for a large group dinner around 7pm. Nobody told us they closed at 9pm when we first sat down and ordered and by 8:15-8:30 the servers were super rushed, clearing our table before we were finished and constantly asking if we wanted anything else because they were closing soon. It was really annoying, especially because we had a large group with guests from overseas and celebrating a special occasion. Really ruined the mood. The dishes we got were pretty good, some better than others. The menu is largely Chiu Chow style but there's still a lot of fusion dishes.
Service is unacceptable and disappointing. When we asked nicely for one more extra pair of chopsticks to share, the waitress with a ponytail asked, Don 't you have enough? I was shocked for such an attitude. This was the ONLY request we made and why would she feel annoyed for serving the customers?
I first dined here with family about six years ago. It had great selection of dishes with big portions and reasonable prices. However, I stopped visiting starting a couple of years ago because I would always get sick. I visited again may 27th for some safe yang chow fried rice but sick again about 5 hrs later. If you ever visit take a look into the kitchen and you will see cooks using same tongs for everything. Also you will notice portions are getting smaller while prices are getting bigger
This place served a good variety of Chiu Chow cuisine. Although the decor was nothing fancy but the taste of the food was good and portion was very generous. The price was affordable too. It is recommended if you crave for Chinese food.
The rice pot has a crusty bottom and the rice is soft, perfectly made. The signature Chew Chou marinated duck is tender and also perfectly made. They also carry a variety of lunch specials which are very reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend the restaurant to our friends.
