Bidra med feedbackWe stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Bridgeport yesterday. We all wanted Chinese food and reception recommended Shanghai Wonderful across the street. WOW!! The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We had Spring rolls, Wonton Soup, Deep Fried Prawns, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Special Chow Mein, Shredded Chicken Chow Mein, Mixed Vegetables with Cashews, Dry Garlic Beef (so delicious), Lemon Chicken. We were very impressed. Will definitely be back on my next Vancouver visit. Maybe a second location in Prince George
Stopped in yesterday, staying across the street at the Holiday Inn. In a word, awful (and expensive) We ordered beef/broccoli and BBQ fried rice, sounds safe no? Beef had been boiled I think that left it puffy/mushy and chewy too-yuk. The rice sure looked like it used frozen veg (carrots/peas/corn/green bean) obviously machine processed, tasteless pork cubes. A plus, large portions of lousy (that's being kind) food Bill $52 CAD plus tip, insult to injury..
If you're staying in the Holiday Inn Express Vancouver Airport, walk across the street for excellent dim sum!
After a long day meeting , girlfriend 5 and I , both just want to relax at the hotel , I noticed the Shanghai restaurant just across the street from the hotel , so we dropped in for a light meal , very modern clean decor , not busy at all for Friday night , the owner very friendly got us a tablets right away Large menu lot to choose from , I order the Hot and Sour soup , Spicy pork with garlic , Dry spicy beef ginger and the Juicy Pork Buns over all the food quality and cooking techniques and style is not 100 Shanghainese cuisine it is okay but not that great , Buns and the Hot and sour soup very tasty and hot , the Beef ginger very dried like shredded rubber tasteless , over all food just so so , there is definitely lot better Shanghainese restaurants in Richmond but location convenient to and from the hotel , friendly staff , and they change you extra 2 to use credit card ?? less my girlfriend happy with her Hot and sour shop , very relaxing meal . no complain !
First the food was great. We enjoyed it immensely but our welcome was well...possibly racist. We felt as though we were unwelcome amongst the Chinese clientele. The server clearly was unfriendly and gave us the impression we didn't belong in the restaurant. The expression on the manager's face when we paid conveyed the same type of welcome. Clearly, non-Asian people are unwelcome in this restaurant.
