A&w - Richmond

I'd never been to an A&W before, and we were staying nearby in a hotel before a cruise. Had to wait a long time for my order. The staff kept calling out orders that nobody claimed with everybody standing around waiting. Seemed very unorganized. Food was mediocre. Wouldn't return.

Stayed at a nearby hotel and since we had no car, were limited to the places that we could walk to. This place was clse by, so we gave it a try. Food was OK, but not worth what they charged. After using our credit card during our cruise, I wanted to pay for dinner with US dollars They did not convert our money into Canadian, so the meal cost more than it should have.

Today around 9:30 pm on 12/04/2018, I ordered 2 double Buddy Burgers and fries at this A&W restaurant. After paying for them and returning to my room, I discovered that both burgers were actually singles, not doubles as I had paid for. My recommendation to everyone ordering takeout is to double check your order to ensure you receive what you paid for. I was too tired to go back as my flight had been a 24-hour ordeal to get to this location. I attempted to rate the service, food, and value, giving the service a 3, food a 2, and value a 1. I would not return to this fast food place again.

I had never considered A&W as an option for lunch, but when a coworker offered to grab a meal there, I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the restaurant was clean, the food was hot and fresh, and the service was friendly and efficient. Eating in also allowed me to enjoy my drink in a frosty mug, a refreshing touch on a hot day. They had no problem accommodating my special burger order, and it was delicious. I now have a new fast lunch option for my lunch hour errands.

A good experience of breakfast fast food in North America. Loved the hashbrowns. Were sorry the full breakfast wasn't available. Staff on shift, all women, were great: friendly, efficient and kept the place tidy and clean.
