Dairy Queen - Richland

I always stop at Dairy Queen locations wherever I go. I began stopping at this particular one a few years ago while passing through Jackson. The service at businesses in Jackson is typically terrible, so going to the Richland store was a slight detour but definitely worth it. However, over the last year, things have taken a turn for the worse at this location as well. On my recent visit, I was one of only two customers there. After waiting at the drive-thru alone and then going inside, I was greeted with a lackluster "aight watcha got?" before two employees proceeded to chat with each other for 20 minutes instead of assisting me. Really?!?!

I ordered delivery from Uber Eats and unfortunately, my Blizzard dessert had melted by the time it arrived. The gravy in the Chicken Basket was watered down and the chicken pieces were smaller than what I am used to. Additionally, there was no silverware provided and the French fries were stale. Overall, the order did not meet basic quality standards.

Only two cars were in line when I pulled into the drive-thru, yet all of us were told to go around the building (back into the highway as there?s no lane in the parking lot to cut across) and park to wait for our orders. Ordered a single-pattycheeseburger and a small sundae.. after about 10 mins a guy brought the cheeseburger out. It?s been about 10 more and countingas I?m still currently sitting in the parking lot waiting. Senseless service, awful layout to have customers rerouted to theparking lot to wait, and ridiculously slow service even during non-peak hours.

The chocolate-dipped cone I ordered was not made correctly. It should have had a solid chocolate shell around the entire ice cream cone since it was dipped, but instead it was messy and drippy because the chocolate was poured on top. To make matters worse, they wrapped the cone in napkins before the chocolate had a chance to harden completely. It was a messy ordeal trying to remove the napkins, as I ended up with bits of it in my mouth. Despite the good quality of the soft serve ice cream itself, the dipping process was poorly executed.

The chicken strip dinner with toast was very hot and very tasty. But it is so expensive to eat there that you might want to consider a full restaurant because two of us eating cost $20.91
