This place is good and I'm not just saying that because it's a block from my house. I'm from Vegas and have opinions on Hawaiian food. I didn't like it at first compared to what I was used to, but it is one of Reno's better restaurants. I haven't had everything on the menu and don't eat here as much as I would like because it's a little out of my budget. Average prices, I just can't stop myself from getting sides and desert. Worth it for a fast-casual splurge. It's a hole-in-the-wall in a well kept strip mall. Fairly comfy tables, chairs, or bench. Walk up to the counter and order and they will bring out your meal in to-go containers. You can also call orders in or place online. It's run by a family and they are always nice. I like all their photos on the wall. Very welcoming. The wall of spam is cute too. I wouldn't mind if they put a few tables outside, but they have a nice view of the roses through the window. They have some delish comfort food like loco moco and spam musubi. The kalua pork is good, though my husband thinks it's too salty and tastes like seaweed for some reason. I like it with a little of the hot sauce they keep by the register. He usually gets the ribs or shack chicken. I like that they have shoyu poke, because I don't like mayo sauce on fish, but they have that too. The mac salad is addictive and I will eat it off my family's plates if they are too slow. The slaw is good too if I'm trying to eat healthier. Malasadas are yummy. I like that they have ginger ale as a fountain drink. There are about ten things on the menu that look good and I've never tried. This place is one of the better options in Reno. It's worth the stop if you are just exiting to get gas or looking for a good quick meal in the valleys.Parking: Half empty strip mall on the edge of the city limits so plenty of parking. Nice scenic walk from the Silver Shores neighborhood. I've not noticed a bike rack, but it's a quiet shopping center with plenty of room to kickstand.
I love the food, the food was fresh and the employees were very nice, kind and helpful I will come back again thank you.
Overall, it's an awesome place! The staff was friendly. The food was prepared quickly! We stopped in for a late lunch. A locally owned restaurant with family pictures lining the wall. The place was inviting and friendly. We ordered teriyaki chicken and a bowl of mac and cheese with pulled pork. The teriyaki chicken was the best ve found within the greater Reno area! The homemade mac and cheese was perfect and the pork was equally taste with the perfect amount of bbq sauce on top!Everything is made using original recipes! It was so good, we ordered more food to go!This was our first time here. We will be making this a regular stop for food!Parking: Shared a lot with a pizza store, church, and a convenient store, probably 60 spaces available.
Aloha shack hit a place that hasn’t been hit before. I’ve been going to L&L for years. After trying aloha shack there is no going back. Everything on the menu is amazing. The customer service is awesome, the employees all act as a family.
