Bidra med feedbackNot realizing that it was nearly 2 o’clock, the magic hour when lunch is over in France, we stumbled into this amazing bistro by accident. The host was extremely gracious and seated us anyway. Even though his English was limited, he took the time to explain each dish on the menu du jour. I had a fillet of veal with mushrooms in a pastry crust with a delicious red wine sauce. The meat was cooked perfectly rare as I ordered. My husband had, what we suspected was veal mountain oysters in a luscious gravy with mashed potatoes. This we paired with a delightful house pinot noir. Even though they turned away others that came in after us, we were not rushed at all to eat up. We heartily recommend this restaurant, but during regular business hours.
Had a nice lunch upstairs surrounded by unique dog pictures dogs posing in Generals' uniforms etc. Fun place; nice friendly service. I had the rabbit terrine and andouillette sausage (with a nice mustard to cut the aroma) and a glass of minervois.
Just popped in here for breakfast but we were rather late (10:45) and all the croissants had gone. The very friendly chap said that he could make us a sandwich and what an understatement that was. Our sandwiches were delicious. My wife asked for mayonnaise with hers , which they made it fresh. A delightful French pavement atmosphere coupled with good food and very friendly service. We'll be back for dinner.
