Bidra med feedbackMy go to sushi place. Best in Regina that I’ve found. Tiny place and run by a husband/wife who are always there. Don’t be fooled by the “gas station sushi”
Stayed in nearby hotel from restaurant, want sushi food, but don't want to go far, saw this place twice, didn't think much as it is a little shack, next to gas station. but decided to check it out online, saw it has 3 different branches in Regina, picture shown the HQ store, big and nice décor. This shack branch can't be far from its standard. Dewcided to try. Ordered 2 items from menu and was a take out. Surprisingly, the taste was good, not oily, not poorly made, fresh fish and ingredients. Little bit smaller pieces of sushi that expected; but it is mixed in a rice bowl dish. The hand roll is decent but again small piece of fish inside, wish it is bigger and fulfilling. This is actually a restaurant branch that served Japanese food with Korean tilted. They have Korean food items on the menu, maybe it is fusion style cooking; and owner is not pure Korean or pure Japanese. Regardless, glad to find the place and enjoyed their food, no need to travel far from my stay to satisfy the craving of sushi. Overall, good. No décor to mention, but the place is clean and neat, best locale, and place is best for students, in college or other level (not graduate and make money yet), anyone on a budget, wish for a take out, or anyone that wants good food and no need to pay extra for décor, services, and ambience.
Got the spicy pork bento, the pork is not cooked in the sauce, its simply drizzled over, the ' wasabi dynamite roll has too much rice in to and house salad dress in okay.
The tempura dipping sauce had cinnamon in it? Popcorn chicken from frozen with no flavour. Not worth the price.
Great Sushi and sashimi, probably best in town, way better than Wann Izakaya. Korean staff, however, nice Japanese food.
