Bidra med feedbackLocated in the heart of Wellington Point, this restaurant offers alfresco dining across the road. If you have an issue with this setup, then this may not be the place for you. However, I must say that the Thai food here is exceptional compared to what I have had around the world. The selection of curries is impressive, and the coconut palms add to the ambiance. The generous portion sizes allowed us to take home leftovers. The staff is friendly, parking is easy, and I can't wait to come back again.
We began our meal with the Satay Chicken Skewers, which were consistently amazing. With a group of six, we all opted for the coconut rice and also selected our own individual dishes. Some of our choices included the chicken with cashew nuts, beef muaman, and chicken pillow Thai noodles, all of which were delicious. While the service is typically outstanding, on this particular night they were quite busy and only one server was managing all the orders and tables, causing our service to be slower than usual. However, she did an excellent job handling everything on her own.
Main St Wellington Point. They weren't great twice. The food had little taste. The shrimps lubricated like detergents, the beef had all its fat left, the service was also shocking. I asked for a veg stir fry, but as... the previous time I went cold I asked if it could be served on a Sizzle Plate (Hot Plate), they said no... what is the difference, it's just a plate?? My friend asked about a coke (3 times she asked) while waiting for the table with us, which came well after we got her coke. Next time my friend asked about her coke they said they have no links!!! You're an IGA that's the story, GET SOME! What kind of restaurant does not have Cola on a Friday night!!! Only 1 of our party of 9 thought it was okay, the rest didn't say again. On the plus side it is in a beautiful location... but the Thai river is just on the road and a million times fresher and more beautiful!
The address given is misleading as the restaurant is at Wellington Point but well worth the effort of driving the short distance to go there. Main Street is lined with poinciana trees which were in full bloom when we were there and they added to...the village atmosphere we experienced. My wife and I both enjoyed the mixed entrees before tucking in to the generous and tasty mains. My sizzling seafood was exactly what it claimed to be, hot and sizzling also very tasty while my wife'sThai karee sauce stir fry with chicken was equally as good. Service was prompt and friendly certainly no cause for complaint there. We sat out on the footpath with a cool breeze blowing as the sun set and luxuriated at the end of the day. As the restaurant is not licensed it could be worth taking your own wine etc, although there is a bottle shop in the hotel on the corner.
A few weeks ago, a group of 18 of us showed up for a meeting that should have been booked, but somehow the booking didn't go through. The staff handled the situation well and we were served promptly and efficiently.
