Fish Cafe - REDLAND BAY

Friday night takeaway... was busy... but 90mins for food to come out is ridiculous... not the only one others upset too... good way to lose customers!! An hour and 20mins to go from ticket #45 to #55!! Recommend to avoid if busy.

We've been to Barramundi Boys quite a bit during visits to Manly and it's generally been pretty good. They do good coffee and there's some convenient casual seating.But on this occasion we were after takeaway fish n chips on a quiet, rainy Monday night. So no waiting, but 'crumbed cod' proved to be a poor choice. Reckon it was crumbed in advance and sitting in the fridge ready for a deep fry. It was dry and the fish was over cooked. Pity. Chips were good!

We dined here for Friday lunch. Excellent friendly service by our wait staff. The Capellini with seafood in a creamy tomato sauce from the specials list was delicious and the whiting in curry batter from the main list was too, although the batter was a bit too filling. The view of the marina and the general harbour village atmosphere make this a lovely place for lunch. We had work to do so did not sample the wine list. Will definitely visit again.

A great corner location overlooking the Manly boat harbour. The menu is overworked and dated in its approach. Wait staff are trying, but have no clue how to deliver a modern/urban/casual service experience. The kitchen is incredibly slow. The food, when it arrived, was not worth the hour wait. Such a missed opportunity by the owners. There are better options to spend $100 for a leisurely lunch when you have a guest in town.

Lunch was very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. But someone forgot our main meals. After we realised that people around us who arrived after us were getting their meals and we were not, my wife asked after our meals. We were told that they were very busy and it would be chased up. The meals arrived 10-15 minutes later so obviously they had been forgotten. That is ok and accidents happen. But there was no apology or any kind of offer which disappointed me. Even a simple acknowledgement that there had been an error would have been nice. But the food was tasty when it arrived and the view from the cafe was excellent looking over the yacht marina.
