The Angry Pirate - Redfern

In a landscape crowded with small bars vying for attention and trying to establish their own unique identity, I can appreciate the challenge of standing out. However, I was quite impressed with this establishment. The staff were top-notch, and the food and drinks were phenomenal. They even offered a great selection of house wines. It seems like they are still evolving as a bar, and I am excited to revisit in the future to see how they have progressed.

The restaurant has a trendy interior design, a great variety of beers available (especially welcoming is Feral Brewing Co), and their cocktails are strong and delicious. The 'Grog Zombie' cocktail, which is the last one on the menu, is particularly impressive. The atmosphere at Play is relaxed and laid-back, with complimentary seasoned popcorn for the table. It fits right in with the lively bar scene in Redfern.

This bar is excellent. They serve authentically delicious pizzas with the option of vegan cheese. The selection of beers on tap is great and they also make their own spiced rum. The staff is charming and the décor is fantastic.

I walked past this place a few times before I finally went in and my only regret is not going sooner. The staff are wonderful, they were totally welcoming, friendly and attentive. There is a only a small range of drinks and food – I think this is a deliberate decision the bar made and I agree with it because but everything on offer is prepared perfectly. I will return.
