Bidra med feedbackThe restaurant offers a high-end dining experience with beautifully presented, delicious Mediterranean-style dishes that are creatively composed. The tasting plate menu provides ample food and I left fully satisfied. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, always ensuring that water is refilled without having to ask and keeping the table clean between courses. There is a great selection of local and European wines available. The decor is chic with industrial-style ceilings and elegant furnishings. The open kitchen and bar add to the lively atmosphere, making it a great place to dine and enjoy the buzz of the restaurant.
We started our meal with fennel battered zucchini flowers and pizza fritta. The zucchini flower was light and airy with a crisp batter. The pizza fritta, topped with wagyu bresaola and truffle pecorino, was a bit doughy and missed the mark. Next, we tried the potato gnocchi with pork sausage, smoked ricotta, and fermented chili, which was absolutely delicious. It was the standout dish of the night, with light and fluffy gnocchi perfectly complemented by the sausage and ricotta with a hint of chili heat. For our main course, we had the wagyu flank with bone marrow, Jerusalem artichoke, and truffle cream. The wagyu was cooked medium rare, flavorful, and well-rested. The accompaniments elevated the dish to another level. For dessert, we enjoyed tiramisu with Zokoko chocolate and rhubarb and strawberry crumble with torched meringue, matcha, and pistachio sorbet. Both were delicious and a great way to end the meal. There is a good selection of wines by the glass or bottle, as well as a few craft beers to choose from. The prices are reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. The service was friendly and accommodating, although a bit slow. If you prefer a more leisurely dining experience, you will enjoy the pace. Overall, this restaurant comes highly recommended for its excellent food, good value, and we will definitely be returning in the future.
After being unimpressed with the previous version of Allegra (Beccafico), we decided to give their $25 pasta and wine Wednesday night a try at the new location. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent hand-made pasta, delicious wines, and friendly and knowledgeable service. The warm and intimate atmosphere added to the overall experience, making the meal worth every carb. We will definitely be returning in the future!
Glam spacious interiors, high ceilings with domed pendant lights, this newbie restaurant on Phillip St (rather than Dank st side) is sure to impress! We shared the burrata, crumbed quail egg, pappardelle with a rich lamb ragu, perfectly steamed green beans with walnut pesto - all superb.Wines by the glass are few. Good choices by the bottle. The Sicilian heavy red was magic.Shared the cotton cheesecake, different, more of a sponge than cheesecake but so delicately matched with its mandarin and liquorice ice-cream.Excellent espresso (served with a divine Italian meringue petit four).I am rushing back, and spreading the word.Take your time, share, because it's all very good!
Good service and food, very nice Barossa valey Rose wine, the burrata was melting perfectly, and table was cleaned between every course
