Good stop for those who rent a canal boat and find a place to eat. variety of foods on a menu that is changed on a regular basis, i.e. no specificities.
The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location with lovely local rooms. However, the food was only average. The bread served at the beginning was slightly stale. The makrele with rhabarb, fennel, salsa verdi, and hazelnut crumbs had a good taste, but the flavors seemed a little muddled. For the main course on a Sunday afternoon, I had the roasted bark meat which came as two thick slices on top of slightly warm vegetables and soggy bratkartoffel. The Yorkshire pudding was good, but overall the dish was not impressive. I think opting for the BBQ outside would be a better choice next time.
This is a great option for canal boat renters in search of somewhere to dine. The menu offers a good variety of dishes that are regularly updated, so no need to worry about a limited selection. The staff is welcoming and attentive, and the prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.
The Rowbarge in Woolhampton is more of a restaurant than a pub, and very popular with families as children are allowed to dine in. The establishment is located along the river.
