Let’s start from the not so good things, if we can say that. Maybe slightly long time to wait between starter and burger? We had one of them lovely locally brewed beer, so no problem. Reeding the other reviews, the waiters aren’t too good in Italian? Not mother tongue for sure, but they were super friendly and super available in explaining everything! Now let’s talk about the burgers.... OMG having lived for 2 years in UK and 1 in US, I have to say that this (probably because it’s the best combination between American recipe and Italian food quality) is definitely the best burger I’ve eaten in the last 15 years; plus you can make your own, so you can exactly choose what I’ll have in it. Beers? 4 beers, 1 for every stage of the evening, but the best one for me, is defenetly the DDH IPA, not really balanced yes, but from a Double IPA, the last thing you want, is being balanced. Only few choices for the dessert, but who cares if that was also super tasty! Definitely I’ll stop here again when I’ll be back in Val Pusteria.
We happened upon here after visiting Lake Braies. My first time enjoying a stout. The burgers had such unique, complete, bold flavors. Be sure to get the beer flight! The servers (Max) are patient, helpful, and speak enough English so as not to struggle with deciphering. As for the atmosphere, it’s wondering listening to the river sitting outside. We learned the owner/chef is from New England, Maine and used to train for the Olympics here (biathlon). I grieve that I won’t be able to experience this in the US. We’re taking 4 cans of Milk Stout home with us, which they gifted because they ran out of the labels for the cans. Can’t wait to savor it and share with our friends and family!
I´m coming to Riverside since 3 years almost every week to eat one of those excellent burgers. I love burgers and i travelled the world but this pub is sincerly very unique and special in his offer and food quality. Just the fact, that the chief is a real American guy, shows that the style of creating the food is different and way better than in other restaurants. So if you are near this masterpiece of a restaurant, do yourself a favour and check it out. You won´t regret it.
My family and I found Riverside by accident. We were headed east on the E66 back from Brunico and saw Riverside on Google maps. It was a little off the “beaten path” but were we glad we went. We had 2 salads with grilled chicken (huge portion), 2 Sliders (great little hamburgers) and as you can see in my pictures The Ribeye!! Wow!! This is American style and American size!! The chef Zeke he is the grill master!! Our ribeye was aged for 24 days and our portion weighed 1.7kg. We wanted it cooked medium rare. It was the perfect temperature and color all the way through. I loved the salt and pepper choices they have for you to create your own seasoning. A little extra to add to the already great flavor. The service was excellent. I was amazed that one server and an assistant kept all the tables served so well. And the price (including drinks) for this much food only €150. Great price, great service and GREAT FOOD If you are in this area, make the drive and enjoy the food.
