We were late to our reservation and not sure where to go when we got there, but we were immediately and warmly welcomed by Carlo himself. He was incredibly gracious with our terrible Italian and helped translate the menu, even going so far as to modify a dish to make it vegetarian for me. Carlo took an interest in our travel and told us about some olive trees of his near our Airbnb, giving us a sample of his olive oil. The food was outstanding and the prices were a steal. We’ll remember how welcomed we felt thank you Carlo for your kindness and hospitality!

In a week-long trip that was very food-centric, this restaurant shined as the best of the best. This is a husband and wife joint, with the husband as the waiter and the wife as the chef. Everything was impeccable, from the warm, personal service to the food. It really felt like eating at an Italian family’s house, and you could tell there was an emphasis on quality and freshness of ingredients. Adding to the authenticity is that the vast majority of other diners were locals, which is hardly a given in this very touristy area. Highly recommended!
