This is no way to make a patron, especially if this restaurant is supposed to celebrate its recent opening. Then after the order we learn that they were from trout, the only duck that appealed when reading the online menu. When the server saw my disappointment, she said, We also have salmon. The trout tastes much like the salmon. And that's good? If this is a point of sale at Zak, then Lord knows how bad it would be. We didn't stay around to find out. Bye.
My boyfriend and I came to Zak’s because it was the only restaurant on Valentine’s Day that wasn’t fully booked... and for good reason. The hostess was kind, but even with a reservation, it didn’t seem like she expected us coming as she was looking around to figure out where to seat us. She finally found a spot they had just cleaned, gave us menus and came back with silverware and napkins, and the drink menu I had asked for. She came back with 2 chocolate covered strawberries which I thought was nice. We were in a section where it seemed like there was only one waitress for that whole section. I saw the waitress go back and forth to each table in that section besides ours. She glanced at me and our table, but never said a word. No one ever came up to us to greet us or even get drinks started. We waited for 30 minutes, yet no one ever came up to us. We clearly hadn’t ordered yet because we still had menus out and no drinks. Let alone the couple next to us also looked aggravated by the lack of service. I understand it was Valentine’s Day, but not even a single greeting in 30 mins? Please do better. We ended up leaving without ordering. This created a bad first-time experience for us, which we’ll most likely not return to this restaurant.
This restaurant is by far the worst of all the dining experiences my wife and I had. I should have known better. After paying almost 100 dollars for the food, because I did not want anyone to get fired or put on a leave of absence. It's hard times we all are experiencing these days, so I thought the right thing to do was to “PAY THE BILL” and not argue. But needless to say, I will not be going back to this establishment.
Not prepared for customers. We ordered at 6:45 and finally got our dinner at 9:15. Luckily we had good company,wine and a few appetizers to keep us busy. Unfortunately, our daughters had terrible service and when their food finally arrived after waiting 2 hours, it was cold. Their server also did not provide utensils to eat the cold food when it arrived. We had to go to the kitchen and ask for forks. They said they needed to wash them! Our good was great and fortunately, our entrees were comped and we only paid for the drinks and our daughters cold food. As the food was good, I’d recommend waiting to go here until the new ownership figures out scheduling and hires good wait staff.
Great staff. Amazing service. Thank you. The food was fine. But honestly, great staff makes me come back one day. Maybe I didn't order the right thing. The shrimp scampi needed salt
