Benny's - Rancho Anahi

We use to come here multiple times a week when it was Splash so I wasn't sure what to expect from Benny's with the Mama Cruz sign! First good sign was chef Mario came out to personally greet us and I asked about the specials. He mentioned a fish or chicken special so I went with the chicken dish wrapped around some date and cream mixture and covered with a mango sauce. Dinner came with soup or salad and my little salad was fresh and delicious with real (not bottle) ranch dressing. My dinner was hot and fresh with sautéed carrots and zucchini that were quite tasty. I loved the chicken dish although I wasn't a fan of the mashed potatoes with the mango sauce and would have preferred rice. The service staff was top notch bringing us two kinds of chili and plenty of chips. Thr flan was not my favorite as it was served with chocolate sauce (where's the caramel goodness)! The cerveza is large and cold and the view with the crashing waves is unbeatable. All in all a very good dinner and dining experience.

I asked for rare and the fillet came back medium well. The cook forgot the mushroom sauce. When it showed up it was this salty glop of nastiness. The waitress did make them cook me a new chunk of meat that was much better. That said. I'm not sure that I will be back to eat

My friend and I went to Benny's for the first time yesterday. We ordered two of their fish specialties and we're absolutely delighted with both selections. We had the lime fish and the almond pesto fish, both large portions and cooked to perfection. The service was a bit slow but who cares with the wonderful view. The servers were very accommodating and friendly. We both told the staff it was the best food we had eaten in months,and sent our compliments to the chef.We will definitely return.

Been here a half dozen times now. It is located in the old Splash building, right on the surf.Clean, nice atmosphere, friendly and efficient servers. The food is inexpensive and the drinks are generous. Fairly new place so it is not crowded.Give it a try. You'll like it.
