Had an awesome dinner at Saraza, the fine dine restaurant in Rajkot. Propounded by masterchef Ajay Chopra, this 3 year old restaurant has enhanced the dining experience for food connoisseurs in Rajkot. Its beautiful high celing grandiose main seating area is tastefully decorated, with adequate lighting. The space between tables is a unique feature I have not seen any restaurant having so much space between guest tables giving you a sense of exclusivity. You can enjoy your conversations without fear of somebody overhearing you. There was live music at such soft volume that it does not bother you, yet provides a background to your discussions. The large open kitchen, complete with a wood fired oven, allows you to see your food being prepared behind a huge glass facade the kitchen is completely and effectively sealed to make sure you don’t get even a slight whiff of the food. It also has a superb bakery, an open al fresco seating area, a cafe, an upper level seating and a huge banquet area and lawn for larger celebrations. Exclusive valet parking facility provides you peace of mind. We ordered Coco berry mojito a pink coloured aerated drink infused with berry extracts and spiked with fresh mint leaves Roasted tomato and pepper soup a thick creamy soup of tomato having a distinct flavour of burnt tomatoes with a hint of chillies. Tasted great with a slice of toasted garlic focaccia. I savoured the soup with some freshly ground black pepper Mexican tortilla soup a hearty tomato bean soup with staple mexican flavours, served with thin short slices of tortilla SCA salad a salad inspired by Saurashtra Cricket Associaton’s kitchen boiled exotic veggies mixed in pesto sauce and served with thin slices of parmesan cheese. Beautiful! Achari Bharwan paneer Super soft thick panner slices marinated with achari yogurt based marinade, and stuffed with achari masala. Absolute winner perfectly baked in tandoor imparting that tinge of burnt flavour! Mushrooms cooked in manchurian style with small chunks of garlic, spring onions and green capsicum with a soya based sauce. (Could have been little less oily). And last but not the least Wood fired Contadino Pizza perfectly baked soft base pizza with toppings of sundried tomatoes, confit garlic, mushrooms, pickled onions and spinach, and added topping of jalapeños, in a red tomato sauce and topped with chewy mozzarella… a fantastic pizza to make it a great meal.. prices are quite reasonable for such great ambience and quality of food. Overall, a great experience enjoyed the evening with close friends! Enjoy some snaps of the restaurant and the food… Words Photo Courtesy : Dear Frien Mr. Rajiv Kamani
Overall it was okay... Ordered hummas and pita bread which was not tasty. Bit costly. The only good part over here is their ambiance. (Edited): ordered focaccia sandwich and hazelnut hot chocolate, to my surprise the sandwich was amazing... Bread was so fresh and the veggies were were freshly chopped. Sandwich was crispy from inside and outer part was amazingly soft and properly baked. And hot chocolate was also too good in taste.
Update from recent visit: Service has become slower and staff isn’t that proactive, but food quality is still the best One of the best restaurants in Rajkot as of now. The fusion menu prepared by them is very eye catching, and the taste is really appealing. Service is unparalleled and ambience is quite open. Easily accessible from the main highway road. Ample parking which can be a made a bit better, still lot of space and seems efficient in general. Tried a few items from each kind, and extremely satisfied with each one of them be it taste, presentation or price. A must go with family as well as friends!!
Wouldn't recommend. The food is quite expensive and it doesn't match with the quality and quantity of the food. We had ordered a soup and pasta and punjabi sabji. The food given wasn't hot enough and the quantity provided wasn't enough. The waiters are however very cooperative and kind. The interior is good and one can take business or formal meetings there. They have a good space for parking. The bakery is good and the quality provided is also appropriate. However I wouldn't recommend the restaurant. There is a banquet provided by them for family functions and weddings.
