Bidra med feedbackThe place was proposed by my young nephew; he has very good taste! While our part had uncomfortable wooden chairs, the service was very attentive and the food and service were excellent. It is directly opposite the road from the métrobus 800 and 801 (of the érables),...so you can find it
We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and it turned out to be a fantastic discovery. We were lost and looking for something unique and new, and this place fit the bill perfectly. It seemed to cater more to locals than tourists, as it was less bilingual and more French-speaking. However, as English speakers, the staff still managed to help us order and made us feel very welcome, even accommodating our three children. The food was delicious and one of the best meals we had in the city. We would love to return to this restaurant!
This was our first dining experience in Quebec, and it was delightful. We arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday evening and were the first customers on the small terrace. By the end of our meal, the terrace was filled with locals enjoying the wine they had brought. The menu was extensive with choices from North Africa, such as Couscous, Merguez, and Pastille (Moroccan chicken pie), as well as dishes that were familiar from Lebanese or Turkish cuisine, such as Kebabs and Shawarma. Our meals included three cold salads (cabbage slaw, tabbouleh, and green salad), as well as a starch (couscous or rice) and the main course. The bathrooms were clean and the service was friendly. (For travelers from the USA: Remember that Quebec is similar to Europe, you need to ask for your check. If your server does not bring it right away, this is a sign of respect for your meal, not neglect.)
Aux Deux Violons has been represented in Montcalm for several years. A little outside the tourist circles of Quebec City, the place is popular among residents of the dense residential sector of Montcalm many of whom come as I, walking to a...restaurant not too far away. Previous visits were for me and for friends who went there: service was often cold, hurried and unpleasant. This time it was different: The staff was friendly and accommodating, despite the crowded Christmas evening. I had a shrimp tagine with a side order of the cousin. The food was very good, a good value for money, but nothing to write home especially. If you are in the mood for a good, honest cousin or tagine, this restaurant will not disappoint. But better North African food is found elsewhere.
After a long day of exploring and walking, my partner and I were searching for a restaurant near our B&B. Luckily, we stumbled upon 2 Violons right next door! The staff was incredibly welcoming and pleasant. The menu offered a wide variety of delicious choices at very reasonable prices. My meal included three small salads that were fresh and tasty, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. The decor of the restaurant was also very pleasing. We will definitely be returning to 2 Violons the next time we visit Quebec City to try more of their dishes. A truly exceptional find!
