Bidra med feedbackThis was the single worst bbq meal of my life. Everything we ordered was covered in VERY sweet bbq sauce, swimming in a moat of oil. The sausage was sliced so thin you’d think it was prepared for a toddler. The fries were limp and undercooked. Overall, a big “meh”They charged me .49 for a cup of ice water. I’ve never been charged for water at a restaurant. It’s so unamerican!!!Our server was was very friendly and attentive, but the meal was definitely not worth going back for. No matter how hungry you are, drive to the next place.
Brisket, fried okra and onion rings. Brisket was tender but I really wish they would of asked me if I wanted bbq sauce. Fried okra was very good, onion rings average both were not piping hot for them being fried. By the way we weren't asked if we needed anything else after our food came.
This was probably the worst dine-in experience I've ever had. First time here. We had to seat ourselves (that's fine and dandy but we stood there for a few minutes until finally a customer told us to seat ourselves). Then after waiting for a bit I had to get up and grab menus for my family off the wall. Then after waiting a long while we were finally asked for our drink orders. Once they came back with our drinks and I asked about the bbq nachos, the waitress FINALLY decides to inform us that there was zero bbq left (this is at 12:30 and they close at 2). By reading the reviews on here it seems this is a common trend at Holy Smokes...a bbq joint with no bbq. Our food came out and I was embarrassed for the chef. My kids took 2 bites (I'm not exaggerating) of their food and said they didn't like it. DO NOT GET THE ENCHILADAS! The Sissy's special was just s.o.s. and a horrible example at that (burger patty was way over cooked and the bread was BURNT...not toasted...burnt). My wife ordered onion rings but received fries. My daughter order a quesadilla but they neglected to put the chicken on it. My youngest son's corn dog was dang near BLACK! The experience was terrible; the service was awful and the food was atrocious... Oh I almost forgot...we had to hunt down our own silverware bc our waitress was MIA. Avoid this place and save yourself $80!
Small town place on the main road. Waitress seemed not to care. Staff seemed like it was a day off. Pork sandwich was good. Other food not so much. Three tables including ours had people in them. Disappointed. Looked great online. Didn't have the same menu on sight. Wouldn't/couldn't make what was on the online menu. Seemed put out when ordered from in house menu.
We were there on a Friday, around 11.The place was empty, you sit yourself and the server comes to give you menus and take your order. We hadribs- dry, the meat was not flavorful, I only ate where there was barbecue sauce and it was sparse. It was tender but dry somehow?pulled pork- good, nothing to write home about but best meat on my plate(they were out of brisket and regular sausage, among other things)also Cole slaw- not seasoned at all, and practically tastelessfried pickles- seasoned and fried perfectlypotato salad- unexpectedly seasoned and very goodSweet tea- goodWater- good (I add this because sometimes tap water in different places tastes weird)I liked it's close proximity to the truck stop (Love's). We parked our truck and walked in.Tldr:The service was good, the food wasn't great, and the location is good.(Also posted on the Holy Smoked company listed on Google next door, unsure which one this business sees)
