Someplace Special Pizza - Putnam

Stopped for a late bite and a drink and it was great. Perfect night for alfresco dining. Started off with potato skins got 4 nice pieces. We also shared Mac/cheese bits which were very tasty. I also ordered child/senior fish chips which was delicious. My wife's margarita was very good and my beers were nice cold. Have stopped here several times and have always enjoyed ourselves. Service has always been good.... not great...... and tonight was no different. Nothing fancy just a nice local restaurant. Update; 4/28/17 Perfect night for alfresco dining so my wife selected Someplace Special especially because I have enjoyed their Fish Chips. Food was very good again (Fish Chips and Chicken Alfredo) but service was just ok. Really wished waitress had come back more frequently to get my wife another glass of wine and for more napkins. By the way. It has nice little bar but don't expect sports on the 3 Tv's. The Bartender.... same guy every time I have visited must not like sports. Always cooking shows. Also strange, the other restaurants in downtown Putnam almost always have waits for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night. Not Someplace Special. You can always get a table. It's just not as popular. I guess it just lacks that extra something to move it to next level.

My boyfriend and I adore this place! If you have the chance to get the garlic bread pizza, DO IT! I've posted a couple photos of our food/drinks from today but we have had multiple great experiences here. We absolutely LOVE the white sangria here!!! My boyfriend tried the pumpkin martini which was also to die for. We had a great bartender a lovely lady who was a manager at the restaurant which is now Black Dog. She never rushed us, informed of us of upcoming events in Putnam, and was overall amazing. Our food was awesome!! The Pilgrims wrap was delicious as were the garlic sticks. I don't think we will ever stop coming here for our date nights. Thanks for making us always feel special

OMG we loved it here! We've never been to Putnam before and had Comedy Show tickets at the Bradley Theatre so arrived 90 minutes early and randomly picked this place for a bite and cocktails beforehand. Looked through the window and no one was sitting at the bar which scared us a bit but we were in a brave mood. Well, everything was great and the bar was full by the time we left. Super friendly employees especially the bartender. Excellent pours, nice martinis and the Someplace Hamburgers were fantastic we both had one. Such a cute place, fun with good service and decent food. It was a hit abd we hope to come back one day!

Came here, today, and got a large pepperoni pizza. When it came out, my first thought was that it was a really nice-looking pizza. Nice color and a good amount of grease visible. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to its appearance. That's not to say that it was BAD. It was a bit above average, really, with the sauce being the worse (but still not bad) part. It's just that there are much better pizza places, nearby. Well, if you're willing to drive over to the Brooklyn/Killingly/Danielson area. Woodstock Pizza is pretty good, too, and pretty close to Someplace Special. I tried a bit of one of their hamburgers, as well, which was also pretty good. Again, not one of my favorites, but still a good burger.

Great small town atmosphere with American food and drinks! The food was fresh and tasty. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting Putnam Connecticut. Our waitress Melissa was friendly and attentive to all our needs. I'll be back.
