Xiaoyan Gourmet - Punta Arenas

After the attempt and disappointment of 4 different oriental Chinese, Japanese Thai restaurants in punta arenas, we finally discovered a truly authentic Chinese restaurant: xiaojan gourmet ≠lippen . that is the restaurant in punta arenas for all, the delicious authentic Chinese cuisine. the restaurant is casual and clean. the dishes are really delicious, authentic, secret and cheap! they remind me of the dishes cooked at home in china! xiaojan gourmet became our home kitchen since we had discovered them, and we eat there daily 6 days in a row until the last day in punta arenas. we just couldn't get enough of it! I speak Chinese with the Chinese owner xiaojan, her son chef, and her daughter in law waitress and order from her secret hand written Chinese menu, which is not offered in the rule for non-Chinese speakers. but they also speak Spanish and a little English, so they feel free to ask them to explain the Chinese menu and make dishes from it if they want. or even try not to order anything in the menu! we enjoyed each and every dish that smoked pork 肉Σ) with sour cabbage ≠), kong bao chicken, chicken gizzard, green pepper squid, braised fish, antarctic shrimp, tomaten egg soup, seaweed shrimp soup, suppe noodles. some of these dishes were not on their secret menu, but they are flexible and always cooked delicious dishes for us. Another secret: xiaojan house made the smoked pork 腊ύ, acidic cabbage ‡ and spicy sauce 辣酱 and they are all so delicious! if they are in punta arenas, don't miss xiaojan gourmet!

When I came to the restaurant, I haven't eaten Asian food for almost a month. The server recommended me some Chinese dishes that are not displayed in the menu and the dishes were really authentic and delicious.

Xiaojan gourmet is nothing but a secret gem. the inner could look cheap, but eating is as authentic as possible. the main menu is typical South American style Chinese food. but the secret to real success here is to ask for the secret menu. a word of warning, they must speak either Spanish or Chinese. the secret menu is written in Chinese, and contains some genuine gems that are truly authentic, only some of the workers are bilingual in Chinese and Spanish, and they will be the ones they need to direct their order in direction. a masterpiece was the sneaked pig with sour cabbage. also a splashy dish, a grilled dish and various suppenants stood out, and the authenticity really stands out. I traveled far in China, and this is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I had eaten outside China. great and highly recommended.

Friendly staff and delicious food! We love the Antarctic krill in particular.
