Bidra med feedbackWe have been there before and enjoyed it. However this trip was quite disappointing. The service was indifferent. The drinks were weak and entirely too sweet. One of us couldn't finish their meal because it was so tough and poorly cooked. People go for the view (Which is lovely at sunset) but the restaurant seems to be coasting on that special feature. The meal for 4 was 3,000 pesos but we were very underwhelmed.
For a view of the ocean, sunset and city view this is the place. Breathtaking. Our waiter was attentive and courteous. We had the ribs, which were meaty and fall off the done tender. We also had the Mahi-mahi which was very tasty. Beware of the steep incline to get to Casa Isabel. We would recommend a taxi.
In 2016 I wrote a review for Casa Isabel. 5 stars, it was amazing. We have gone back over the years and we were never disappointed. Last night we had made reservations and it was my husband’s 60th birthday. When we arrived it was written cash only! Never were we told that when we made our reservations! The man at the door used to be an ex-cop from Canada; really nice! Not anymore… Well last night they were not ready to make an exception and take credit from us! We are repeat customers from Canada that now live in PV! We were very courteous when we asked. They just wouldn’t accept credit? I thought that this showed a lack of initiative from their part. We left and we will not be back! High season is the only time they are open and PV is so busy now that they just don’t care. So sad where things are going!
All those who have been to Casa Isabel will know what a lovely place it is and with wonderful views. On our latest visit, we enjoyed our meals, though the filet mignon was over cooked, barely a hint of pink on when ordered medium) it was still tender and tasty. Service was adequate and wine by the glass was a generous pour. The menu has been cut back and I was disappointed not to find the meal seen on the menu that I would have ordered. And had enjoyed last year. More importantly, all items were approximately 50% more expensive than the menu shown on the web site. As all payments are now in cash, strange when a restaurant is located in a hotel, is there still any connections with Madison’s, as in previous years credit card payments were accepted. With greatly increased prices and cash payment required, some customers might be in for an uncomfortable surprise until the website menu is updated
We felt a little underwhelmed with our meal here. The ride up the mountain was certainly interesting . Definitely a lovely view for sunset. The food was good but not exceptional. We had Coconut Shrimp and Mahi Mahi. Both were good but we felt we had had better elsewhere.
