Bidra med feedbackAMAZING!!!!! During our stay in Puerto Vallarta, we stayed at the Grand Venetian, located across the street from Lavaca, Argentina. The interior of the restaurant was charming and upscale, providing a 100% fine dining experience. The food was exceptional, and we highly recommend trying the whole octopus. The meat was so tender that it melted in our mouths. The service was also top-notch, and the price was very reasonable. We enjoyed dinner with drinks, dessert, and two main dishes for less than $100 for two people. Overall, it was an outstanding experience, and we highly recommend this restaurant.
One night I tried the Asador La Vaca Argentina for supper. It was only a 5 minute walk from my resort. As it was fairly early (for Mexican diners) the place wasn't too busy and I got a choice of tables to sit at. I sat in a nice airy room with large windows that let lots of sunshine in. I also got to watch the wild traffic. Octavio brought bread to my table and then gave time to check out the menu. The bread was fresh and crusty. I came with 3 dipping sauces. The red tomato was nice and spicy, the chimichurri was awesome, and the green tomato was spicy but not one I cared for. I ordered the Arrachera with a side of Garlic Mushrooms. I was given a choice and had my salad with my meal as opposed to before. My 500g flank steak was grilled perfectly med rare. I was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. It has been a long time since I could eat a 16oz+ steak, but I did manage 3/4 of it. The mushrooms came in a huge bowl that could feed 2 or 3. There were chunks of garlic in the broth and the mushrooms were extremely tasty and complemented the steak. The salad was full sized and I'm glad I had with instead of before the main course. One thing I love about Mexico are the fresh vegetables and my garden salad was no exception, it was fresh and very good. It did no even need dressing. Octavio was very attentive during my meal without being intrusive. For the size of my meal, I found the price very reasonable. I have been to numerous Argentinian and other South American steakhouses, and this one ranks up there.
The restaurant was busy but we got seated shortly after we arrived. Service was fair and the food was excellent.
