Casa Marina Beach Resort - Puerto Plata

DIES is for the ELECTEN PART of CASA MARINA ONLY I went here on 20. July 2022 and the place was absolutely perfect, I had my doubts about certain reviews. First we were taken to our room, 309, I can not recommend this room enough, it is the BEST room at the resort, third floor directly on the beach, with views of the infinity pool and beautiful views of the sunset every night. The maid comes once during the day, and once after the shower to refresh the bathroom. Next, the place is immaculate and you will know all bartenders with name, huge shout to Victor, José, Ruan and Sandy, they ask you while you are in the pool if you want a drink or come to the beach and ask if you want something. Note that we were at most 15 people in this section, so it was easy for them to follow when we needed more drinks. They were SUPER friendly and welcome as opposed to other reviews read ive. Ruan showed me pictures of his family and sand is a playboy who always smiles. José is somewhat older and you can say he is a wiser, very professional and polite and always smiling. Also William am Hermann a la carte Restorant very funny and professional. The beach: The best is not the best, but it is sandy and the water is mostly quiet, again we were not many in the resort, so we always had a chair and parasol waiting for us, the water was very warm and simply perfect. My Gf prefers the ocean, but I personally prefer it to hang the pool, the salt from the ocean grounded with my skin. There are several pools to enjoy the selected area and no children allowed to leave a guy brought his child and within 2 minutes a security told him to leave. The main pool is huge and overlooking the sea, perfect to hang in it all day and there is also a smaller pool attached to the several rooms. These rooms look cool but you get zero privacy with these rooms as they look into the main pool area. The food was amazing, although we never ate the buffet, just in the a la carte restaurants. I am very difficult with food, so trust me when I tell you it was good. Drinks were also perfect. I had already expected this, so it wasn't a let-off, but most advertising places you see in the promo video are closed and not in operation, this includes the pool lounge (not in the theatre area, but in the selection area) and the coffee lounge was also closed and not operational. I could not imagine that they are open on the selected side with only 15 people. AS for the beach was the only negative side that the beach is public, so you can get banana boats in the bay every 15 minutes tipping people into the water and many locals, but the locals are respectful and seem only hanging in the right section of the beach. I felt sure I was walking around. When I cubed in December, people would immediately get their Ipads and stuff stolen when they remain unattended. All in all, I LOVED this resort, I would give him a solid 9.5 to 10 and I would go back anytime. But it's not a party resort, I would have died if I went to the party alone or with friends, but it was perfect with my girlfriend. Also the Select area is tied to the larger Casa Marina beach and Riff Resort so that the buffet is packed with people to avoid.

Casa Marina is a very good place to stay. It is very cozy with a relaxed and almost family atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is situated on rocks, so the sea is different from other parts of the Dominican Republic. The sea view is very picturesque. The hotel restaurant offers a great view of the sea and a beautiful sunset. This is a very atmospheric place to stay.

This place is one of the best in the area. I've been here a long time. If you stay for a few days, you'll love it. Beautiful hotel with a well maintained green area. Many pools, there is a cliff for beautiful photos. courtesy and inconspicuous staff. An excellent selection of healthy food in the restaurant for baby.

I booked this for family holidays to relax and this place fulfilled our requirements. I went through all the reviews about this location and that helped me to step up my expectation. Internet access is a problem and is not available anywhere. I bought Wifi from the hotel and bought a SIM card from the local provider. My preference would be to take a enabled phone handy and buy a Claro SIM or another local provider. I could use 15 gb plan for 12 usd, compared to the Wi-Fi plan from the hotel for 9 dollars that work for an active device at a time. They receive signal only in certain areas and not in space. Since we went with all-inclusive, I didn't worry about food at all. The buffet at El Batey was great and the staff at the restaurant was very helpful. The ventilation inside the room needs improvement because we sometimes got odour. But after switching on bathroom room exhaust fan we could avoid the smell. Water pressure on overhead shower needs a lot of improvement. As an alternative, we used hand showers. Since we spent most of the time outside, we were able to overlook and adapt the inconveniences in the room. The night sky was great and will be of interest to Star-Gazers. Reception staff can be more helpful for customers coming from other countries. Overall we had a great time.

April 2022: this hotel is very nice and is in a great location for walking and night life. The staff was great. The rooms were clean and the property well maintained. The only issues I had during my stay was the first night we had hot shower water. The other 5 days the water was cold. And they don’t provide wash clothes. Called the reception to have it fixed. Never came. Had to bathe with the bathroom sink water after waiting about 10 minutes for that to get hot. The second issue I have is the 3 jacuzzis were freezing and the sign says adults only but kids were in them along with the other side of the property jacuzzis was hot for the “select/premium” guests. Another problem was when making dinner reservations we were told on the second night there wasn’t anymore space. So how do u accommodate for the amount of guest staying and can’t feed them at an all inclusive resort? The food was very basic. I would have preferred typical Dominican meal options instead of American/Mexican/Italian meals. Overall the stay was alright.
