Kona Grill Oak Brook - Proviso Township

I was thrilled to see a Kona Grill while driving by, as I've been missing the one in Lincolnshire. The food was just as delicious as I remembered, and the staff was extremely friendly, especially the manager who stopped by a few times and gave us some cool swag. I will definitely be coming back.

Chillin on Friday, September 27, 2024, when I decided that I wanted to dine at Kona Grill for lunch. Made a reservation, pulled up, walked in, and was immediately greeted by a very pleasant hostess. The hostess seated me and I waited for my cousin to arrive. The restaurant was very clean. My cousin and I both ordered the Spicy Shrimp Tempura Appetizers which were very tasty ?. I also ordered the Chopped Salad with Shrimp and my cousin ordered the Sweet and Blue Salad with Shrimp. Additionally, we ordered dessert...I had the Butter Cake and my cousin had the Cheesecake. Everything was fresh and delicious!???

Great server, very attentive and kind. Food mediocre, chicken satay dry, shrimp tempura sushi average. I ordered the lettuce wrap starter to take home. When I got home I noted only lettuce, 2 sauces, no cucumber salad and a 3/4 fill in the meat container. I have had this starter at the restaurant Nand the meat portion was more generous. Very disappointing. Not worth the price.

40 minutes to pay. I gave the waiter, my credit card and a gift card. The gift card was not credited on my bill. The manager was called who finally credited the gift card. She came back with a corrected bill and kept pointing to the kiosk to pay, but I told her that the waiter had my credit card. She wasn't listening as it took her 3 times of me telling her that the waiter had my credit card! The waiter had my credit card! It didn't seem to matter to her. I can understand an inexperienced waiter, but not a manager, who was not listening to the real problem. It is a real problem when a waiter has kept your credit card.

Kona Grill is a favorite of mine for fine dining with friends. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent and the desserts were awesome! A great restaurant for dining out.
