Bidra med feedbackFair fare 4 lunch. Lunch seems like the appropriate meal to eat at Sawaddee. Meat/Vegetable/Tofu plates come with rice and soup. Never seen a thai menu organized according to the sauces, but it makes it fairly easy to pick what you want and then add the meat or vegetables. I had Tom Kha Kai which is the traditional Thai coconut milk chicken stock based soup flavored with galangal root which I like to eat with tofu rather than chicken. The soup was served hot, but a little watery, still the flavor was still very good. I followed the soup with a Rad Na noodle dish. It's OK Asian. I have eaten Thai all over the US and Thai is my favorite food. This place is just OK and is not spectacular. It did not really stand out for me. Definitely did not take Asian fare to a different level for me at all which is what I need to taste for me to rate it as good or great. It has to be a little different and this place did not do it for me. For example compared to Aspara on Hope Street, this place pales in comparison. (Maybe someday I will see if there is sometime on the Sawaddees menu that is better .
Although it was Saturday, it becomes a habit to have coffee and dessert. The lone staff is very friendly! She’s now my acquaintance. Feel happy
Great food and very good service, everybody is really nice.
Fantastic, authentic Thai. I had nam sod which was delicious and had the right amount of ginger. My wife had the Bangkok curry and loved it, said it tasted just like it did in Thailand (I liked it too, there was too much for her, portions are generous). We had the fresh spring rolls beforehand which were notable for having mint; it made them super refreshing. Just great food all around! Edit: just saw that so many other reviews think the portions are small??? I can only surmise that Providence restaurants spoil their customers because these portions were just fine. The sticky rice is only 1.75 which is super reasonable IMO.
