Bidra med feedbackI really enjoyed my experience here in the first week they were open. Paid reservations worked out really well $10 per person, with all of it going toward the bill. Cocktails were the usual prices, $12 $13, but they also had the option of getting mini cocktails for $6. The cocktails I saw were next level, including a smouldering cinnamon stick as a stand in for a cigarette. These folks do dramatic presentation really well. I asked for a mid level brandy to finish theevening, and the bartender brought it to the table and told me a little bit about the history and philosophy of the brandy house. My wife wondered if I had made a costly mistake with my vague request, but it ended up being $10. Food wasamazing as usual and fairly priced. The standout for me was the Poutine it was even more amazing with the sauce from the asparagus fries. I thought the shrimp might have been a little bit soggy, but they were so delicious that I convincedmyself that was exactly the way they were supposed to be. I'll definitely be coming back.
As is expected from the Travail brand, no detail was too small. Seeing their name etched in ice for the toki high ball was just the beginning of an excellent journey through their imagination of whiskey drinks and the delectable selection of bar food. Travail has never failed to deliver an amazing experience everytime I come to visit the Twin Cities.
What an awesome and amazing experience. The cocktails were delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and unique. The food was so very good. I could eat the seafood roll everyday for a year and still be excited about it. If you can, go, treat yourself, you won't be sorry.
We visited Travail for their complete tasting menu, which included the cellar bar and the upper floor restaurant. We paid for a cocktail pair and an N/A pair to go with the meal. We were greeted with NA cocktails at the door and finally brought down. Our favorite part of experience, by far, was the cellar bar and I would return for this part of experience. The menu, including drinks, was creative and surprising, and the presentation was almost overwhelming, but in a funny way. We tried chorizo and octopus tacos; mussel soup; Foie gras that tasted like lime Sherbert, and Korean corn dogs, among many others. Everything was fantastic and we had a hard time to select favorites. Travail has done a good job to make NA drinks as funny and exciting as regular cocktails. I tried both drinks and felt that the taste profiles were similar. The menu above was a more classic presentation of gourmet food. The vegetables really shined against the meat. The steak was much salted in the night we visited, but it was otherwise perfectly prepared. Pig bell served with carrots in a peas soup was our top favorite. The beverage pairs on the upper floor were overwhelming, with the exception of a mango carrot juice, served in a cup shaped like a flower pot that was both sweet and delicious. The desserts were just as good; we couldn't choose any favorites. I think above, you better understand the price tag not that the food is 't excellent by itself, but the experience of being there makes it really worth it. We tipped. Unclear how things were structured (with bought cards in advance without added, we were not a final receipt or a comfortable little leather folio, so decided for cash folded under a glass). The restaurant could make the expected result clearer. Overall we had an extraordinary experience and go back.
What a fabulous location, staff and food. The location was absolutely perfect and we enjoyed an 11-course tasting menu of perfectly prepared French dishes. It was a very good value for the money also spent. Will definitely be back and highly recommended!
