Stopped in while on a work trip. Had the lunch special of vegetarian falafel wrap with side salad. Delicious and unique flavors! Also the Persian ice tea with mint and lime was a great refreshment on a hot day. Colorful decor, lots of seating and clean bathroom. Friendly and fast service!
I am originally from Iran and now live in Vancouver, I have travelled to Prince George for work and was recommended this place for authentic Persian food. I was so happy to have Persian food but when I went to the restaurant I was disappointed with the food and service. The waitress seemed disinterested and not engaging in conversation. THE FOOD WAS NOT AUTHENTIC OR ANYTHING NEAR AUTHENTIC. The rice was not basmati (the rice looked like a sushi rice or something you would use for sushi), there was a Safran colour but no taste and the stew (khorsht fesenjoon) taste like something out of the can. I am very happy that the owner Mr. Akbari is trying to introduce the Persian culture to PG comminuty but I think is unfair to say that the food is authentic (and its NOT).
My wife and I toured Prince George for the first time this July. We enjoyed a beautiful supper at Shiraz. It had been recommend by our son in law who is from Prince George. And for once LOL he was right. The service was attentive, the decor was ok. In a strip mall but that made parking easy. Unfortunately, my wife uses a mobility scooter which is not large (a Smart Scoot) and the inner and outer door made things problematic. However, once in it was lovely. Our server, perhaps the co-owner, is beautiful and very informative. Thank you for a lovely, lovely evening.
This restaurant doesn't have a particularly scenic location, but so what, there is ample parking and the food and service are fantastic. The menu has numerous authentic Persian/Iranian selections that are well prepared and reasonably prices - interesting ans tasty. The owners have flat screens on more than one wall with looped slide showings various historical locations in Iran - fascinating, and a great accompaniment to the meal. If you come on the right day/time, there's also live local entertainment.
