Bidra med feedbackHave been here previously, never an issue. Went on Father's Day. We arrived on time and placed our orders (5) withing fifteen minutes. Waited one hour and 5 minutes for our entrees to arrive. Had to refuse one because it was severely undercooked. Asked for a substitute item (Chicken Salad) that wouldn't take any more time to prepare. The waiter did apologize a couple of times for the long wait. Understand it wasn't her fault. There seemed to be ample service people working but obviously not enough kitchen staff. Every other table we saw had the same long wait time for food. In the end they comped us two soft drinks for the delay and didn't even offer to deduct the one item that was sent back.
The entire food experience made me think of a Sysco food truck. Is there really a chef in the kitchen? Is there calamari inside all that breading? Is there chicken in the bowlful of pappardelle? I am a salt lover but couldn't finish the over-salted French onion soup. One and done. We will not return.
This was our first time at Murphy's and it did not disappoint. Loved the building itself, the history, sitting in a booth was great. Our server was awesome! The food was also excellent. My wife had the scallops and wow, I had a bite! Amazing! Prime rib was also very good. If you love to really dine then you have to try Murphy's while visiting Prescott.
I had not been to Murphys in a very long time and when I was in Prescott for a special occasion I thought this would be a wonderful place for a meal. I made a reservation and that was very easy. I like the atmosphere and our evening table setting. Our server was very nice and attentive. I was disappointed in the bread that was brought to the table. I could tell it was probably frozen and proofed and baked on site, but the texture of the bread was just air. No texture, no flavor. It was just plain white bread. The herb butter was flavorful. I was surprised at the very small selection of fish and the server did not recommend one of their specials. My partner wanted prime rib, so he was set on his dish. I was underwhelmed by the selections and I chose the prime rib stroganoff, a $38 meal. And it was not offered with a side. A local had recommended it to me. A server brought to us the wrong meals at first. I know people can make mistakes. When our meals were served I was not happy with the look and taste of the stroganoff. It was flavorless. The noodles were clumped together and the sauce was minimal. The pieces of prime rib were present. Equal portioned to the amount of pasta. I added salt and pepper to the meal, but still no flavor. I was disappointment. I did not want to complain to the server. I should have just asked for a side salad. My partners prime rib $45 was medium rare as he ordered. The truffle fries were crisp and flavorful, but not worth the $2 up charge. Because it was a birthday celebration we were offered dessert and the cheesecake was a generous portion to share. My young adult memory of Murphy's did not meet my expectations of a wonderful meal like I remembered. After speaking with some locals about dinner options I would go somewhere else.
Murphy's was offering a 50% discount for seniors during the month of May between the hours of 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM Monday through Thursday. We arrived and I had a half rack of pork ribs while my wife had the chicken salad sandwich. I also got a shared order of grilled asparagus. Each came with a side salad. The ribs and asparagus were delicious but the chicken salad was on the dry side. We'd certainly would come back but would order something different from the chicken salad.
