Back again this year and it didn't disappoint. The food is typical to the area and all locally sourced. We started with mixed antipasto fried piadina, cold cuts, caramelised figs (to die for) and an enormous hunk of pecorino cheese brought on a wooden board with an enormous knife to cut as much as we wanted. Quite honestly we could have stopped there but the real reason for going to the Trattoria del Cervo is the homemade pasta. You cannot find any better anywhere. Tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and ragu. Tortelli alle erbe with butter and sage. You just have to try it to believe it. A word of advice: despite being hidden away in the mountains of this area, you'll need to book in advance. It is so popular with locals and tourists alike.
I have driven many Km to eat here with family and friends. Excellent home made food in the Italian mountains at very reasonable prices. Family run.
Their pasta is the the best one I have eaten! A picturesque and real italian trattoria. The road up to the place is also stunning.
Not easy to find but definitely worth the trip. To get there you drive up a steep road which becomes a track but you can't really go wrong and the view is wonderful. Once you get there the mixed antipasti are great but the homemade pasta is divine and worth tasting all the different types. The ravioli burro e salvia (butter and sage) are so delicate they melt in your mouth and the tagliatelle are hand cut when you order and are absolutely delicious. The best tagliatelle ever tasted. If it's the mushroom season you must try their funghi fritti too.
