The Barn Restaurant - Prairie Du Chien

Amazing food and service! The salmon, chicken cordon blue, cheesecake and caramel apple martini were all delicious!!

We were looking forward to checking this place out while traveling in the area. We had reservations and seating was on time. Atmosphere was nice, service was wonderful and our drinks were good. Soup and salad bar were also good. Unfortunately the prime rib was very disappointing. It appeared to be cooked to the correct doneness (med rare, borderline medium) but I could barely cut it and it was difficult to chew. It was a strange texture and almost seemed like the meat was old or had been frozen. Very disappointing. My husband had the catfish and said it was good. American fries and twice baked potato were also good. Will not return or recommend to others.

All the food was so great!! The soups and varieties of salads on the bar tasted home made, soups were especially delicious sometimes I only order that. Wait staff was very pleasant and accommodated changes with a slight upcharge. Prices were good for the amount of food they serve you. ????

We had an awesome server who was very helpful! Clam chowder was a hit with our group as well as the broiled fish dinner. I had the chicken cordon Bleu and it was fabulous. Highly recommend but call for reservations they get very busy.

We went on a Friday night and it seemed busy. The hostess asked if we had reservations.....oops. First time there and didn't know we needed them. She directed us to the first come first serve area. We sat for 15 minutes and a table opened up. We were greeted by a wonderful young waitress, Darian (spelling? , A very pleasant happy person. In no time we had our drinks and our order placed and we're directed to the self serve salad bar. Plentiful and tasty! In a timely manner we had our fish. Hey, it's Friday night! The food was good too, although I hoped for more, I had plenty to eat. Overall a very positive experience! I would suggest reservations on a busy night!
