Bidra med feedbackThis was one of the worst j chicken dish I have ever had . The chicken needed some j seasoning . I have not seen many Jamaican restaurants serving pepper sauce on the side for any j chicken . Rice and peas was tasteless , fried plantain was too ripe and cabbage needed seasoning . This will be a first and last visit for me .
Authentic Jamaican food. I have been going here off and on for a few months. I’ve tried only a few dishes but just based on the dishes I have tried, you can’t go wrong with anything you order.
I have been to this restaurant maybe twice before. But I only got the beef patties. At this restaurant because it was located next to the vet I took my dog to. The beef patties were good. But that is not what I got during this particular purchase. Getting the beef patties is what made me want to try other items from this restaurant. After a long day at work I decided I wanted some ox tails, cabbage and rice and beans. The lady I checked out where it was nice. I asked her her opinion on different things and decided to go with the ox tails. There was another couple in there that was hyping up the restaurant as well. They told me how good everything was. It didn't take long to get my food. And as I got my bag and got in the car I noticed that I was not getting an aroma of good smelling food. I really didn't smell anything. Which is sort of a red flag for me. But nonetheless I went home helping out my food it looked like a decent plate. I sat down to eat And after taking that first day I was very disappointed. The food just did not have a good flavor to it. I actually wasn't getting any kind of flavors. Which is very surprising when it comes to Caribbean food. I decided to try each thing separately and not mixed together to see if I would get taste that way. But no I didn't. I even asked a friend that was visiting to try it to see if it was just me. And she agreed that she really wasn't getting any flavor from the food. This plate cost me $25. So I made myself eat the ox tails but I did not at all eat much of the rice or the cabbage. I was very disappointed.
I ordered the large curry chicken plate and had more bones than chicken as you can see the pile of bones in the picture…the cabbage tasted funny— not like the authentic Jamaican food.
I enjoyed the food at this restaurant. I ordered a fish roti. It was made at the time of my order so It was about a 30 minute wait. It came with cabbage and plantain for about $16. It was delicious but I wasn't a fan of how the food was arranged. The curried fish was inside the roti which made it hard to eat. Also, there was a lot of peppers and onions in the curry which I had to remove because I only wanted the fish and the sauce.
