The best pasta in the city! And don't miss out on the pollo alla diavola.
Food quality has dropped significantly at portola kitchen. Not sure if they changed chefs or what happened but the rigantoni al la vodka was watered down and the pasta was over cooked. The mafalda felt like cheap bolognese with random pasta thrown in. For the price I was paying it was not worth the pasta. Overall very disappointing from a place that used to be good.
Our waitress, Kerry, was really, really nice and did an excellent job waiting on our table.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was super noisy the night we went, and it was almost impossible to hear each other. we were a party of six and we had to shout in order to be heard. Maybe rugs could be put down on the floor because it’s super loud with the high ceilings. The menus is great. However, my food came cold. Skirt steak cooked perfectly just cold as well as cold mashed potatoes. My entree was supposed to come with onion rings and it didn’t so I mentioned it and they told me they ran out and brought fries instead. That was very nice for them to do that, but I think they should have mentioned it when I ordered because that was part of why I ordered my entrée. The tuna appetizer was delicious and the Caesar salad was so so. Hope this helps.
