Rotisserie Franky - Porto-Vecchio

Respite from the €20 hamburgers of Porto Vecchio. We stopped on the way back to our apartment after an uninspiring search for good casual dining in Porto Vecchio. Francky’s chicken is well seasoned and moist. The potatoes roasted to perfection. Three of us had two chickens, a large order of roast potatoes and two bottles of mineral water for €35, and we took a load of leftovers back to our apartment. If you’re looking for reasonably priced food in Porto Vecchio and are tired of pizza (if that’s possible), put Rotisserie Chez Francky on your list. Hint: This about takeaway rather than the picnic tables out front. The wasps are as drawn to the chicken as I was.

We pulled in here to pick up a roast chicken, then decided on some chips to accompany. We chose the small version but the server overloaded it big time with enough for four of us! Very helpful staff and lovely chicken too.

We visited Franky 's twice during a recent week 's stay in a villa nearby, following a recommendation from the owners. Franky 's sells a wide range of meats cooked on the spit, as well as burgers, etc. Its outside and tent like setting gives it an artisanal air. We were strongly recommended to take the poulet fermier but sadly on our first visit they had sold out. We had a standard chicken and some potatoes cooked under the roasting birds. The chicken was very good (the leftovers made a great beach lunch the next day) and the small portion of potatoes was huge. A couple of days later a friend visited and this time we 'd reserved a poulet fermier and got some sausages too. Both were great and even with 3 of us at this second meal we couldn 't finish the potatoes remaining from a couple of days earlier. As an added bonus Franky 's is literally right next to a great food drink market, Chez Eva, with lots of fresh fruit vegetables and a wide selection of local artisanal foods and wines. Between Franky 's and Chez Eva it 's easy to make a fantastic feast!

Great ribs and roasted meat. Vegetables are also good. This is a place to go for taking away a good meaty dinner! Better to order for ribs
