Il Gambero - PORTO SAN GIORGIO

If you are looking for good sea food you have to go here. Best fish and pasta. Also antipasta is great. For us one of the best places in this area.

It don’t fail. Great seafood, not expensive, and very pleasant. My family enjoyed it very much. We recommended it.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch driving up the coast. We thought it was a neat seaside place to grab a bite. We had a decent lunch, where I had some delicious seafood and seafood pasta.

We have visited Marche many times in the last 15 years and have had some excellent meals in the area. We generally find excellent value for money and great service. Sadly this was not to be found at il Gambero. Our expectations were not high when we entered the place. We were hungry and made the mistake of choosing the fist place we saw after parking. The place looking like a cheap and average seaside tourist eatery but thought we would give it a go as we often find the style of a restaurant doesn 't necessarily represent the quality of the food they serve. We all ordered from their pizza menu and had a jug of red house wine. The wine was ok. The pizzas arrived and were not ok. I had ordered their calzone which I generally have when at a pizzeria. I commented to the waiter as he placed it on front of me how small it was. ha ha, small yes! he replied as if to say another tourist fallen into our trap . The pizza was no more than 5 inches across as we 're the other 3 pizzas. The ones you get at the hotdog counter in Ikea are bigger with tastier toppings! Obviously, the staff were disinterested and not prepared to offer any kind of professional service so we ate up in 5 minutes, paid the bill and left. If we weren 't so hungry going in to the place we wouldn 't have eaten the pizzas and would have gone elsewhere. The pizzerias in this area are particularly good but I am amazed that this one is still trading. One visit only by tourists I think.
